CLIMOS: detection and mitigation of sand fly-borne diseases

Tuesday, November 8, 2022

We are pleased to announce that Predictia is part of the research project CLIMOS, funded by the Horizon Europe program, which aims to implement a set of services to monitor and control the spread of vector-borne diseases.

CLIMOS started on 1 September 2022 and will last for 3 years with a budget of approximately 9 million euros. This work will be carried out by a consortium of 29 institutions from 16 different countries, of which the Universidade Nova de Lisboa will be in charge of coordinating the efforts. This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon Research and Innovation programme under Grant agreement No. 101057690.

During this time, the consortium will focus its efforts on improving and expanding knowledge about the spread of vector-borne diseases such as the sand fly, as well as expanding knowledge about the relationship between them and climate, implementing new tools and systems such as an early warning system to carry out such monitoring.
